In 2007 the Hobart to Melbourne Offshore Challenge set a new benchmark for recreational power boating events when a field of production standard trailer-boats crossed Bass Strait in the inaugural running of the Offshore Challenge.
In 2010, the adventure continues ... The Australian Offshore Challenge will again return to Bass Strait in the ultimate power boating adventure. In addition, other Offshore Challenge events are being planned for other locations throughout Australia for 2010 and 2011.

Welcome to the Australian Offshore ChallengeIf you are a power boating enthusiast and want to do more to enjoy your boating, then the Australian Offshore Challenge is for you. Whilst there are race and rallies, cruises and social outings for every form of water craft, there is no real opportunity for a genuine, long-distance, adventure-style, navigational rally for power boating enthusiasts – except the Australian Offshore Challenge. This event is designed specifically for the privateer boat owner who would not normally undertake a solo offshore cruise, but who would jump at the chance to explore some of Australia’s best coastal waterways in the company of others as part of an organised event. This is the Offshore Challenge. You do not need a specially modified craft – just a sea-worthy, offshore capable, production sports cruiser or fishing boat. So start by exploring our web site.
